George Rideout

Location: Montgomery Hall, Augusta County, Virginia

George Rideout was born c. 1777. He was at Montgomery Hall for many years. He was declared as having no monetary value in 1847 due to his advanced age. In December, 1850, John Lewis Peyton, acting as executor for his father’s estate, authorized George to look for a home for himself and a home for Sallie Smith.
