George Talbot/Taylor

George was born c. 1840. He was advertised in the Staunton Vindicator in April and June, 1863 by William J. Shumate as a runaway, first as George Talbot and later as George Taylor. George ran away in April, 1863 along with Archy Gower, Nancy Ashby, and Sarah Gaskins/Jenkins. They were all later caught near Harrisonburg, Virginia. Shumate had purchased them somewhere in the Valley of Virginia. George ran away again in June, 1863 along with William Ash.
