Lewis Potter

Location: Montgomery Hall, Augusta County, Virginia

Lewis Potter, a son of Betty and Ben Potter, was born in Augusta County c. 1838

Lewis was appraised in 1847, $450.00. He was sold in 1851 to J. B. Burwell, $800.00.

Lewis was hired out for an unknown period of time in 1848 to William Sanderson.

After the Civil War, Lewis Potter worked as a laborer in Staunton, Virginia. He lived briefly with Serena and Charles Jackson and their children. Lewis died in 1876 and was buried in Thornrose Cemetery.
