Sam, son of Jane/Jane Scott, was appraised separately from his mother in 1847, $200.00. Jane was a daughter of Lucy. Sam was hired out with his mother to an unknown person for an unspecified period of time in 1847. Because they were hired out, they were not available for appraisement until they day of the sale. Sam and Jane were offered for sale at public auction at the Farm in Alleghany County, Virginia on November 15, 1847 but they were not sold.
Sam and Jane were brought to Augusta County, Virginia in December, 1847.
No record of Sam has been found after his arrival at Montgomery Hall.
Sam’s mother was sold to A. D. Chandler.
