Bill Cole was appraised in 1847, $400.00. Bill Cole was sold together with William “Bill” Moore, Aaron, Andrew, Alexander, Madison, and Richard in 1847 to William Madison Peyton, $3,325.00. Peyton lived in Staunton, Virginia, Bath County, Virginia, Roanoke County, at Elmwood,” now Elmwood Park, in Roanoke, Virginia, New York, at “Alta Vista” in Albemarle County, Virginia, and also owned property in what is now West Virginia.

Bill Cole was hired out with William “Bill” Moore, Aaron, Andrew, Alexander, Madison, and Richard in 1846/7 with J. A. Lewis acting as agent.

Bill Cole formerly lived on one of John Howe Peyton’s farms.
